Choose meals from a small core list

Write down several meals you already know how to make and enjoy. Note the ingredients that overlap. Use tested recipes and check what is on hand before building the shopping list.

Choose a realistic number of meals for the week, allowing for plans that may change. Keep a simple backup meal in mind rather than assigning every ingredient to an elaborate schedule.

After the week, note what was actually cooked. Adjust the next plan to match your time and appetite. Repetition can make cooking easier without requiring every meal to be identical.
